Plan your visuals by creating a storyboard. Include sketches or descriptions for each page, considering how text and images will interact.
You must have AT LEAST 15 pages total for your story (counting your cover page).
You may make this a group project. If a group project, each group member must design at least 10 pages. 
Upload your storyboard in a readable format on the assignment (pdf, jpeg, ect).

Write a story that is 300-500 words themed around Spring for Children. 

Using Canva make a design based on the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. 
Pick ONE option below! 
1. Design a Spiderverse Character
2. Design yourself as a Spiderverse Character 
3. Design a piece of of artwork based on the design in the Spiderverse movie 
        (Take a real-life scene and comic-ize it) 

Pitch: Craft a 150 word “elevator” pitch of your screenplay that includes your logline. How would you sell your story if someone asked about it, and you only had 60-120 seconds?

Create a 9-slide minimum storyboard designed on (Canva) or drawn on paper and scanned

Create a mood board and color palette for your script

Using Canva design 3 shots of your short film to share in your pitch

Write your 4 page script here. This will be for a CHECKPOINT grade. 
The Title Page does NOT count toward your 4 pages.

Write a plot treatment that is: • 1-2 pages
• Introduces the main characters in an engaging way
• Addresses plot, conflict, setting, point of view, and characterization
• Includes vivid, specific details that bring the story to life

Day 8: Final Link

Designs: Logo, menu, marketing materials, interior and exterior elements.
Playlist and blog post.
Drop all materials on a page on your Google Site.

Day 7: Thematic Music Playlist & Exterior Signage - Wednesday, Jan. 29
Objective: Enhance your brand identity through music and exterior design.

Playlist:
Curate a 10-song playlist that complements your vibe.
Include a short explanation (50-75 words) of your choices.
Signage:
Design an exterior sign that incorporates your logo and brand theme.

Day 6: Interior Design Concept - Tuesday, Jan. 28
Objective: Design the interior of your space to reflect your brand.

Use Canva to create a mood board:
Color schemes, furniture, lighting, and decorative elements.
Include images and descriptions.

Due here today: 
A detailed mood board and description (100-150 words). Include any visual elements you have in mind. 

Day 5: Marketing Campaign - Monday, Jan. 27
Objective: Develop promotional materials for your business.

Create:
A flyer for an opening event or promotion.
A social media post template.
A billboard design.

Due on Google Classroom Assignment on 1/27: 
Turn in these three distinct marketing materials in a readable format (jpeg, pdf, etc.) here on this Google assignment. 

Day 4: Website Blog Post 
Objective: Write a blog post that could appear on your (fake) website that you will actually post on your Google Site.

Focus on:
Storytelling: The inspiration behind your business.
Highlighting your unique offerings or special events.
Create a web design template or concept for a potential website.

Due on your Google Site Today: 
 A blog post (150-200 words) on your Google Site with a website-style layout designed in Canva.
Paste a link to your blog in the assignment here.

Day 3: Menu Design - Wednesday, Jan. 22
Objective: Design a professional and visually appealing menu.

Include:
Food and drink options (descriptions and pricing).
A layout that complements your theme and logo.

Due here today by the end of class: 
A completed menu in Canva (PDF format) that includes at least 4 categories with a total of at least 20 items with descriptions and prices.  The menu should have visual elements that enhance the vibe/feel of the establishment.

Day 2: Logo Design - Tuesday, Jan. 21
Objective: Create a visually appealing and memorable logo that represents your brand.

Use Canva to design a logo.

Consider:
Colors, typography, and shapes that match your theme.
Simplicity for versatility across marketing materials.

Due here at the end of the class period: 
A finalized logo with a brief explanation (50-75 words) of design choices.

Day 1: Concept Development - Monday, Jan. 20
Objective: Establish the theme, name, and overall vibe of your business.

Brainstorm:
Type of food/drink served.
Target audience.
Unique selling points (e.g., eco-friendly, quirky, upscale).

Due here today at the end of the class period: 
In a Google Document, write a brief description (100-150 words) of your concept and include the name of your business.

Hi, everyone!  Welcome back!  Let's get things started with a project of your choosing.  You can choose from any of the options below (or propose something different that would be equal to the same amount of effort - and must be cleared by Mr. Wiley or Mr. Jeffs) and wow us with what you have learned so far in DMD!

- An original 2-5 minute video with demonstrated edits and added elements (music, sound effects, transitions, images, ect.). It must have at least 15 shots, 15 cuts, and 15 elements.
- Ten 15-30 second short videos with a common thematic element (something that keeps the videos relatively connected).  Think tiktok or social media reels friendly material. These must have demonstrated edits and added elements. It must have at least 15 shots, 15 cuts, and 15 elements.
- A 15 minute podcast episode with original music and sound effects integrated into editing. This must have an original script draft, original (new) artwork, and a paragraph promotional summary.
- A 2-5 minute stop motion or animation project. Must have an original script draft, original sound, and polished editing.
- A created thematic blog (that has to do with media) with 7-10 substantial entries with relevant media (photos, art, music, design, examples, etc.).  Substantial means posts with photographs or media and at least 200-300 words of text.

Timeline:
Tuesday & Wednesday, Jan. 8 - Select project, brainstorm, start working on proposal
Thursday, Jan 9 - Typed, one-page (double-spaced) proposal + draft + timeline plan for project due
Monday, Jan 13 - Thursday, Jan 16 - Project work time

Homecoming Hype Videos! 

On Monday, watch/scrub through all of the video clips and mark down the clip number of clips you might want to use. 
Create folder on the Mac desktop titled “YOUR NAME FIRST AND LAST, Homecoming Hype” 
Download the clips you picked and put them in that folder on the desktop. 

Intro to iMovie

Over the course of the week we will make 3 edited videos: 
3 Edits 
Basic Edit
Title the Project: “Homecoming Hype: Edit 1” 
Use at least 4 clips from each video folder (16 clips) (but you can use more!) 
Edit them down. 
Music Edit 
Title the Project: “Homecoming Hype: Edit 2” 
Make a new edit, using the existing clips 
Remix Clip (Effects) 
Title the Project: "Homecoming Hype: Edit 3"
Add and effect or transition to every clip
Do at least one boomerang/stuttering effect 
Add new music if you want to! 

At the end of the week, upload your final 3 edits to google drive and link them to this Classroom Assignment!

Hi all!  Here is what you need for your Google Sites page.

1. A cool design.  A clean page.  Make sure you don't have any elements that don't make sense.  If you used a template, get rid of things you don't need and add your own photos (or new photos that vibe with DMD).

2. An introduction on your home page that explains what this website is for (DMD class).

3. A Page for your Photo Portfolio (at least 5 photos) 

(Be sure to write some text with a short explanation of the assignment.)

4. A Page for your Photo Editing Portfolio (Canva edits - at least 5 photos)

5. An About Me Page (could either be a separate page or on your home page)

Your About Me:
Include a personal photo of yourself (can be abstract) - Credit the photographer

Write a personal bio that includes all of the following sections:
Introduction (a bit of your personal history)
Description of this website (what are you using it for and what will it display)
Personal Interests (give us more details about who you are, what you like to do, and your achievements)
Bio should be written in first person (I, me, my)
Minimum word length of 50 words

6. A Blog Entry: Your blog entry should be at least 100 words.  In this entry, please reflect on DMD so far and what you most hope to work on and learn about in the class.  Please submit a photo with your first blog entry.

Make sure your site is LIVE when you share it here on the assignment!

After you have completed your photos (remember they must be labeled correctly and put in a Google Folder also correctly labeled), write a 200-400 word reflection on your photography and photo editing work.  Write this reflection on a Google document and turn it in here when you are finished.

Questions you could consider when writing your response (but you may consider other questions and ideas too - these are just a starting point):
