Due:
Annotate the following textbook section. You can either turn it in on paper or upload it digitally. You will need to turn it in by the end of the school day it is due.
Due:
Please complete the reading while taking Cornell Notes. You will submit your Cornell Notes here.
While there is no specific page expectation for this assignment, you will most likely be between 2 and 4 pages of Cornell Notes.
Focus on the skill of summarization at the end of each Cornell Notes page and on the "key points" or "cues" on the left side of the Cornell Notes page.
** Please remember, if you would like to take your notes by hand, I have Cornell Notes pages available in the classroom.

Due:
Complete notes using the outlining method. Upload your digital notes or pictures/scans of your paper notes.
Due:
Read and annotate the provided text.
You may use annotation methods from Ms. Mertz and/or Mrs. Garza. I don't have a specific expectation of how you annotate. You should have 3-5 annotations per page.
I am, however, expecting you to demonstrate the following skills in your annotation.
Focus on KEY CONTENT and CONNECTIONS between what you've learned previously and between different concepts in this text
DO NOT skip over graphics and callouts in the text, these will provide deeper connections and applications to strengthen your understanding
Review the question sections in the text. You should ask yourself these questions. These do not constitute a specific homework assignment, but they do help you, as a learner, to make sure you are understanding the important concepts. Adding your own thoughts and answers demonstrates your skill of understanding informational text.

Due:
You will be taking notes on a few sections of the textbook (these are available as copies in the classroom since we don't have our textbooks yet). You will be using the Cornell Notes method. I would recommend that you complete the summary portion of Cornell Notes for each completed page of notes - remember you should come back "later" to complete the summary (later in the day or the next day).
A few pointers:
Take notes "normally" for each page in the main notes section
Use the left column to write key points from your notes/the text (things like vocabulary, key concepts, etc)
The summary should be completed for each page of notes and should be completed "later" - review your notes and then write a summary later that day or the next day
As with the previous notes, you may take them digitally or on paper. If you take them on paper you will need to upload them to Google Classroom as images or by scanning them.
I've attached a digital Cornell Notes template (make a copy please) and there are paper templates provided in the classroom.

Due:
Read and take notes on the supplies textbook pages.
You need to take notes using the OUTLINING METHOD.
I am not setting a specific number of pages you need to complete. I will simply look at your notes and ask if they are "sufficient."
You can take your notes on a computer or on paper. If you take them on paper you can upload images or scan your notes (ask me if you need help).
